Effective Date: July 17, 2026
These SMS Terms & Conditions govern text messages sent by or on behalf of Highland Healthcare. By providing your mobile telephone number and consenting to receive text messages, you agree to these terms.
Highland Healthcare may send SMS or text messages relating to your relationship with our practice. Messages may include:
Appointment confirmations and reminders
Scheduling and rescheduling information
Responses to patient-initiated questions
Care coordination messages
Prescription or treatment-related notifications
Billing and account notifications
Office closures and scheduling changes
Clinic announcements and practice updates
Other healthcare-related administrative communications
This SMS program is intended primarily for healthcare, scheduling, account, and practice-related communications. It is not intended to replace an in-person examination, professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
By providing your mobile telephone number and affirmatively agreeing to receive text messages, you authorize Highland Healthcare and its authorized service providers to send recurring SMS messages to that number.
You represent that:
You are the subscriber or authorized user of the mobile number provided.
You have permission to receive messages at that number.
You will notify Highland Healthcare if the number changes or is reassigned.
Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of receiving medical treatment or purchasing services from Highland Healthcare. Other methods of communication may be available.
Message frequency will vary depending on your appointments, account activity, communications with our office, and the services you receive.
Highland Healthcare does not guarantee that any specific number of messages will be sent.
Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless carrier and mobile service plan.
Highland Healthcare does not charge a separate fee for sending SMS messages, but your wireless carrier may charge you for sending or receiving messages.
You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to a message from Highland Healthcare.
You may also use another reasonable method to withdraw your consent, including contacting our office at 916-244-5996.
When supported by our messaging system, the following opt-out words may also be recognized:
CANCEL, END, QUIT, STOP, or UNSUBSCRIBE
After opting out, you may receive one final confirmation message. We will then stop sending messages covered by your opt-out request unless you later provide consent again.
Opting out of SMS messages does not prevent Highland Healthcare from contacting you through telephone calls, mail, a patient portal, email, or another legally permitted method when necessary.
